Warehouse Shipping / Receiving

We are looking for a warehouse person that is an action-oriented, hands-on individual that is driven, organized, and a good problem solver. This person will be involved in the various functions within the warehouse and office, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, labeling, and safety. 

The candidate must take pride in their work, be a forward thinker, self-starter, capable of a high level of multitasking and be able to ensure all company processes are followed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Ensures proper storage of products.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Opens boxes, cans, crates, and other containers.
  • Inspects incoming and outgoing material for correct markings, labels and damage.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  • Affixes and/or inspects and verifies labels with correct lot #’s, DOM, product#, etc.
  • Uses computer or other electronic device to enter records.
  • Uses forklift or drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant locations or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing, shipping or delivering.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Determines method of shipment or delivery.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
  • Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
  • Inserts items into containers.
  • Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
  • Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Inspects incoming and outgoing material for correct markings, labels and damage.
  • Routes items to departments.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Drives, golf cart or truck/vehicle to deliver or pick up products to and from warehouse on site locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understands quality control and assurance on a daily basis
  • Ability to demonstrate the highest level of honesty, integrity, and respect for all employees
  • Forklift experience a MUST!
  • Must be able to pass Security/Background check
  • Must have own transportation to work
  • Valid CA drivers license a must
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • College or Tech School a plus
  • Knowledge of Chemicals a plus
  • Haz-mat training a plus
  • Military experience a plus.
